BLASTING AND DEHYDROGENATION TREATMENTS
SANDBLASTING
The surface treatments provided by Zincoplating also include steel microsphere sandblasting. We currently offer two types:
- steel micro sandblasting with very small diameter spheres, used to mechanically remove the micro impurities that may occur on metal surfaces
- andblasting with angular sand, used where a certain surface roughness is required on the metal elements.
DEHYDROGENATION
Dehydrogenation is a heat treatment which is performed after the galvanisation, where the coating is applied on metal with high mechanical resistance. Due to the embrittlement from the incorporation of hydrogen during the pickling and electrodeposition stages, this heat treatment is carried out at 180-200°C or other temperatures/times according to the various requirements. This way, the hydrogen incorporated in the iron molecules comes out and the metal goes back to being compact and, therefore, mechanically resistant. The dehydrogenation furnaces used by Zincoplating are equipped with an IT system to track each lot and verify the exact implementation of the dehydrogenation treatment required.
